1. Introduction

Welcome to GoldWell Corporation, operating under the trade name Ascott Consulting. We are an international consulting company based in Japan with operations across multiple countries. Our success depends on the professionalism, integrity, and collaboration of our people.

This Handbook sets out the policies, procedures, and expectations for employees, interns, and long‑term contractors. It is designed to ensure consistency, legal compliance, and a safe, respectful working environment for all.

3. Employment Classifications

  • Full‑Time Employees: Work the standard weekly hours outlined in their contract.
  • Part‑Time Employees: Work fewer than the standard weekly hours, with schedules agreed in advance.
  • Temporary or Project-Based Staff: Hired for specific assignments or limited periods.
  • Interns: Participate in our structured internship program for educational and professional development.


4. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • All new hires and interns will receive:
  • Written employment or internship agreements.
  • An overview of company policies and procedures.
  • Mandatory Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for protection of client and company information.
  • Probationary periods apply to most positions, allowing assessment of performance and cultural fit.


5. Professional Conduct

Employees and interns are expected to:

  • Conduct themselves professionally and respectfully toward colleagues, clients, and vendors.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential issues to management.
  • Follow the Company’s confidentiality and data protection rules at all times.
  • Avoid actions that could damage the Company’s reputation.


6. Attendance & Punctuality

  • Arrive on time for scheduled work hours.
  • Notify your supervisor as early as possible if you will be absent or late.
  • Repeated unexcused absences or tardiness may result in disciplinary action.


7. Work Hours & Breaks

  • Standard work hours are [Insert Hours] with appropriate breaks as per Japanese labor law.
  • Flexible work arrangements may be approved at management’s discretion.
  • Overtime must be pre‑approved by your supervisor.

8. Dress Code

  • Business or business‑casual attire is expected during work hours unless otherwise stated.

9. Use of Company Property

  • Company property (laptops, software, documents, etc.) is for business use only.
  • All property must be returned upon termination of employment or internship.


10. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property

  • All employees and interns must sign and comply with the Company’s NDA.
  • Any intellectual property created in the course of work is the sole property of the Company unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Unauthorized use or disclosure of confidential information is grounds for termination and legal action.


11. Communication Guidelines

  • Use professional language in all verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Emails and documents should be clear, concise, and respectful.
  • Avoid discussing confidential matters in public or unsecured channels.


12. Leave & Vacation Policies

  • Paid leave, sick leave, and national holidays are provided in accordance with Japanese labor law.
  • Leave requests must be submitted in writing and approved by a supervisor.
  • Unused leave is managed according to the employment contract and applicable regulations.


13. Performance Reviews

  • Employees will receive periodic performance reviews to assess work quality, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Interns will receive feedback and evaluations upon completion of their program.


14. Disciplinary Procedures

  • Minor Misconduct: Addressed with verbal or written warnings.
  • Serious Misconduct: May result in suspension or termination. Examples include:
  • Breach of confidentiality.
  • Harassment or discrimination.
  • Theft or misuse of company property.
  • Falsification of records.


15. Health, Safety, and Well‑Being

  • We comply with all workplace safety regulations and maintain a safe environment.
  • All employees and interns must follow safety procedures and report hazards immediately.
  • Support for mental health and well‑being is available upon request.


16. Internship Program Procedures

  • Interns will be assigned mentors and given structured learning objectives.
  • Assignments may include project research, client support, and administrative tasks.
  • Internships may be paid or unpaid in compliance with applicable labor laws.
  • Completion certificates may be issued upon successful completion.


17. Termination of Employment or Internship

  • Termination procedures follow the employment or internship agreement and Japanese labor law.
  • All company property must be returned before final payment is processed.
  • Confidentiality obligations remain in effect after termination.


18. Acknowledgment

By signing below, the employee or intern confirms that they have received, read, and understood this Handbook and agree to follow the policies and procedures of GoldWell Corporation (operating as Ascott Consulting).
